Seismic Response and Vulnerability Evaluation of Jammu Region (Jammu and Kashmir)

In this study, an attempt is made to generate hazard maps for the Jammu Region (JR) in and Kashmir terms of surface peak ground acceleration ( $${\mathrm{PGA}}_{\mathrm{surface}}$$ ), liquefaction zonation, vulnerability index $$K\mathrm{g}$$ ). To do this, seismic response 200 sites was examined, amplification factors at 0.01 s, 0.2 1 10 s were estimated based on site-specific $${\mathrm{PGA}}_{\mathrm{surface}}.$$ The calculated factor safety from field approaches normalised produce integrated zonation map. Field data geophysical testing also used a distribution study area. According findings, southern portion JR has young sediments alluvium deposits, resulting low shear wave velocity $${V}_{\mathrm{s}}$$ ) very strong amplification. As result, these are kept high vulnerable zones with $$\mathrm{Kg}$$ values more than 35. This provides database designers working construction, development, expansion-related projects J&K developing any prospective earthquake-induced mitigation strategies.
